Quo vadis environmental and carto-/atlas-semiotics?

Abstract

On February 17 - 18, 2018, a future workshop "Quo vadis Semiotics?" and an advisory meeting of the German Society for Semiotics (GSS) took place at the Industriemuseum in Chemnitz. With about 25 participants it was a successful and constructive workshop with promising ideas for the future as well as an exchange about already started projects. This short report describes and comments some new proposals of the section for environment- and carto-/atlassemiotics (ECAS or UKAS/ Umwelt- und Karto-/Atlassemiotik) of the GSS.
